I'm part of a medical miss...Thank you for this. I'm part of a medical mission group that goes to Vietnam yearly so this resonated with me. I've gone to Vietnam twice for the 2.5 weeks and we spend it mostly in rural villages. The stories the original physicians and other medical folks tell about soldiers holding firearms while watching them as they saw patients was eye-opening as an American. That doesn't happen anymore but there are always obstacles. Not from the people themselves as they always seem very welcoming. But the government officials like to toss obstacles in our way sometimes.
